HAL Doppler - A novel therapy for the treatment of hemorrhoids

Conventional surgical treatments use a combination of hemorrhoidal artery ligation and excision of the hemorrhoidal tissue itself.  And while until now considered to be the most effective method for the treatment of hemmorhoids however the operation is very unpopular with patients because of the severe pain they experience post-operatively.

Several less invasive methods have been tried and these include electro-coagulation, rubber band ligation, laser therapy, cryotherapy, and sclerotherapy.   These methods all are directed to the hemorrhoidal tissue itself.  Now, we have developed a new technique known as Doppler Ultrasound Guided Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation(HAL Doppler Ligation).
