HAL Doppler

A novel therapy for the treatment of hemorrhoids

We have developed a new technique known as Doppler Ultrasound Guided Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation (HAL Doppler Ligation). This method has proven to be a simple, safe, highly effective, and relatively painless method of treating hemorrhoids in our experience with 1,400 patients over the past 24 months.

Advantages of this procedure include:

  • Optimized for adjunctive use in Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation (H.A.L.)
  • Precise, rapid localization of hemorrhoidal arteries for ligation
  • Probe designed for easy insertion and brightly lit for maximum visualization
  • Suitable for use during outpatient surgery for Goligher Degree I to IV
  • Prevents prolapse by anchoring the mucosa to the muscularis
  • Especially good for bleeding hemorrhoids
  • No medication or anesthesia required
  • Back to work on same-day or next day
  • Simple, easy procedure
Hemorrhoidal Arterial Ligation (H.A.L.) is an office procedure for the removal of hemorrhoids. This procedure can be performed in the office using a modified proctoscope in conjunction with an Echo Sounder.
